PacificSource Health Plans Supports Local Health Initiatives by Giving $28,367 to Nonprofits Throughout Oregon

Springfield, Ore. – With the goal of increasing access to health care services, Springfield-based PacificSource Health Plans has donated $28,367 to Oregon nonprofit organizations through its Healthy Communities Giving Program. The program is designed to benefit nonprofit organizations that serve the Oregon communities in which PacificSource has members.

In the past four months, PacificSource has made contributions in the following communities:

Albany 

  • $500 to Soroptimist International of Albany to sponsor its Walk for the Cause

Bend 

  • $800 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon to sponsor its annual Comedy Benefit 
  • $500 to The Center Foundation to sponsor its annual campaign 
  • $250 to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington to sponsor its Bend Walk to D’feet ALS 2006

Corvallis 

  • $1,217 to CASA of Benton County for volunteer training materials 
  • $500 to The Corvallis Clinic Foundation to sponsor its Puttin’ on the Pink style show

Elkton 

  • $600 to Camp Millennium to sponsor its annual campaign

Eugene 

  • $5,000 to March of Dimes to sponsor its annual campaign 
  • $2,500 to Options Counseling Services of Oregon to sponsor its Rainbow Dance Theater in 2007 
  • $1,750 to Eugene Hearing & Speech Center to sponsor its annual Communications Achievement Awards
  • $1,000 to Trillium Family Services to sponsor its 2006 Hope for Children luncheon 
  • $650 to Committed Partners for Youth to sponsor its Masquerade Ball 
  • $500 to the American Diabetes Association to sponsor its Walk for Diabetes 
  • $500 to the Lane Coalition for Healthy Active Youth to sponsor the Run/Walk the RiverBend 
  • $250 to The Science Factory for its annual campaign

Medford 

  • $600 to the Providence Community Health Foundation to sponsor the Festival of Trees 
  • $250 to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington to sponsor the Medford Walk to D’feet ALS 2006

Portland 

  • $3,500 to the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center to purchase diagnostic equipment for clinics in Hillsboro and McMinnville 
  • $3,000 to the Children’s Cancer Society to sponsor its Celebration of Courage event 
  • $1,000 to the Christmas For Kids Foundation to sponsor its annual shopping trip
  • $1,000 to the Community Health Partnership to sponsor its annual Genius Awards 
  • $500 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to sponsor its Walk to Cure Diabetes 
  • $500 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to sponsor its Light the Night walk 
  • $500 to the Oregon Patient Safety Commission to sponsor its Policy Summit 
  • $250 to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington to sponsor its Portland Walk to D’feet ALS 2006.

Wheeler 

  • $750 to The Rinehart Clinic of Wheeler to sponsor its Sand Dollar Auction.
