PacificSource Health Plans Supports Local Health Initiatives by Giving $65,350 to Nonprofits Throughout Oregon

Springfield, Ore. – With the goal of increasing access to health care services, Springfield-based PacificSource Health Plans has donated $65,350 to Oregon nonprofit organizations through its charitable foundation and the Healthy Communities Giving Program. The foundation provides financial support for community health initiatives; Healthy Communities is designed to benefit nonprofit organizations that serve the Oregon communities in which PacificSource has members PacificSource has made contributions in the following communities:


  • $500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon to sponsor “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” 
  • $500 to Healthy Beginnings to sponsor the Grin and Bear It Family Fun Run


  • $10,000 to the Parent Enhancement Program for parenting services


  • $12,600 to The Child Center for programs 
  • $10,000 to Volunteers in Medicine Clinic for a three-year financial commitment 
  • $7,500 to Prevention and Recovery Northwest for programs 
  • $5,000 to Eugene Hearing and Speech Center for programs 
  • $1,500 to Committed Partners for Youth to sponsor the “Truffle Shuffle” 
  • $1,500 to the Relief Nursery to sponsor “Friday Knight at the Round Table” 
  • $1,250 to McKenzie-Willamette Hospital to sponsor Festival of Trees 
  • $1,500 to the American Heart Association to sponsor “Eugene Heart Walk” and “Go Red for Women” 
  • $1,000 to ARC of Lane County to sponsor “An Evening at the Chateau” 
  • $750 to SCAR/Jasper Mountain for general needs 
  • $500 to the Lane County Senior Companion Program for general needs 
  • $500 to the Pearl Buck Center to sponsor “Fine Arts, Fine Wines, Fine Times” 
  • $250 to Partners to Improve End of Life Care to sponsor Health Care Decisions Day 
  • $250 to the Special Olympics to sponsor the walk and donate materials

Grants Pass 

  • $500 to Boys & Girls Club of the Rogue Valley to sponsor the Club programs


  • $1500 to American Heart Association to sponsor the “Medford Heart Walk” 
  • $500 to Dogs for the Deaf to sponsor “Dog Walk 2006”


  • $1,500 to the American Cancer Society to sponsor Relay for Life 
  • $1,000 to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington to sponsor “Walk to d’feet ALS 2006” 
  • $1,000 to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America to sponsor “Guts & Glory” walk/run 
  • $500 to Easter Seals of Oregon to sponsor BloomFest 
  • $250 to the Junior League of Oregon for general services 
  • $250 to Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon to sponsor ‘Sole Support for Parkinson’s” 
  • $250 to Portland Youth Builders to sponsor “A Decade of YouthBuilding”


  • $500 to the Salem Police D.A.R.E. Program for services


  • $3,000 to the Yachats Community Health Clinic for services.
