Simple Ways to Improve Your Heart Health

In honor of Heart Disease Awareness Month, we have put together some simple ways you can be proactive about your heart health.

  1. Laugh. Laughing allows your blood vessels to expand and contract easily, helping blood flow to your heart.
  2. Measure your waistline. Your risk of heart disease goes up as your waist size increases. Set goals to lose inches off your waist.
  3. Think fruits and veggies. Add fruits and vegetables to your daily menu.
  4. Avoid cigarette smoke. Breathing secondhand smoke increases your risk for a heart attack and other heart conditions.
