Shades of Pink Event Celebrates Women's Health
Springfield, Ore. — Shades of Pink: An Evening for Women, Wine and Wellness, will be held Monday, October 1 at the Eugene Hilton from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The free community health and wellness event, presented by Springfield-based PacificSource Health Plans, promises a relaxed and informative evening focusing on women. The event will include a sampling of local wines, expert speakers on women’s health issues, and free demonstrations and product samples from more than 60 local health, fitness, nutrition, and beauty services exhibitors.
“We’re excited to present this year’s event in downtown Eugene,” said Charis Robinson, health and wellness coordinator for PacificSource. “We launched the event last year and the turnout far exceeded our expectations. We think it’s a great way to let women mingle with friends and neighbors, try some local wines and learn about current women’s health issues and simple steps we can make for healthier and happier lives.”
Shades of Pink is organized to bring local health and wellness experts together with the community and encourage women to take an active role as informed participants in their health care. Expert speakers will cover topics including using laughter to combat life’s stresses, new mammogram technology, women’s heart disease risk factors, sports bra fitting and a session on creating and maintaining more fulfilling relationships.

This year a special Men’s Den area will offer presentations and exhibitors of interest to men, including a viewing area for Monday Night Football, tool demonstrations, beer tasting, men’s wellness information, and more.
“We hope women will come join us at the event and get to know a little more about the health issues that face us every day,” added Robinson. “Being proactive about your own health is one of the most empowering things you can do for yourself. Our Shades of Pink event offers a pleasant evening out for the community to celebrate women’s health.”
