Patient's Bill of Rights
Overview
On June 22, 2010, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a “Patient’s Bill of Rights,” which outlines interim final rules for a number of requirements under the Affordable Care Act, including:
Pre-existing condition exclusions
Lifetime and annual limits
Prohibition on rescissions
Choice of primary care physicians
Patient access to obstetrical and gynecological care
