PacificSource may consider requests for appointment by agents within our service area who have demonstrated an understanding of applicable health insurance laws and regulations, and who have a proven sales record of group and individual health insurance policies in our area.

Agents interested in appointment must complete a Producer Appointment Application and meet with their local PacificSource Marketing Representative to discuss their qualifications. Following the recommendation of the local Marketing Representative, the application will be submitted to PacificSource's Vice President of Marketing for review and a final determination. If approved for appointment, we require a signed agent contract, a copy of your current agent license, and proof of current errors and omissions coverage.

Once agents are appointed to market PacificSource services, they are required to meet the following standards in order to ensure reappointment each year.

  • The agent must maintain a health license in the state where they do business which includes a small group designation.
  • The agent must continue to carry errors and omission coverage inclusive of matters pertaining to representation of PacificSource.
  • During the previous year, the agent must have complied with the provisions of the PacificSource Agent Contract.
  • The agent must maintain an acceptable knowledge level of PacificSource policy and products.
  • The agent must maintain an acceptable production level in new annual premium. Currently, a minimum of $50,000 of new annual premium is required to ensure reappointment. That minimum is waived when $250,000 or more in premiums has been produced and maintained during any period of reappointment. Appointed agents are informed periodically of their production status, and these production levels are subject to change subsequent to each reappointment date.
