Volume 3, Issue 1: February 7, 2008 Letters Mail to Elect Plus and Value Members As required by the State of Oregon, PacificSource mailed discontinuance letters (sample Elect Plus and Elect Value letters) last week to members who are still on Plus and Value plans, as required by the State of Oregon. The letters informed these members that their current Elect Plus or Elect Value plans will be discontinued on April 1, 2008. We explained that they may select a new plan before April 1, 2008, or if they do not make a new plan selection, we will place them on a plan design that closely matches their current benefits. This ensures that their coverage will continue without interruption. Three Elect Plans are Oregon FHIAP-Eligible Oregon’s Family Health Insurance Assistance Program (FHIAP) helps thousands of Oregon families pay their monthly premiums for high-quality, private health insurance plans. The Oregon Insurance Division has certified three PacificSource Elect Plans as FHIAP-eligible: Premiere 500, Premiere 750, and Preferred 500. Please note that the list of FHIAP-eligible plans in our Elect brochure was incorrect, but we are revising it and will have new brochures available soon. It is also worth noting that FHIAP program openings may not be available again until mid-2009, due to federal funding limitations. Subscribers Will Mail Payments to New PO Box Beginning this month, premium bills for existing subscribers will list a new address. Payments submitted with Elect or Short Term Medical applications should still be sent to PO Box 7068, Eugene, OR 97401. Please remember to review the application carefully to make sure it’s complete before sending it. Individual Department Holds Staff Meetings/Trainings Our Individual Department meets every Thursday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. If you happen to call during that time, you may be asked to leave a voicemail message with your name and number. Please rest assured that our top priority is to return your call immediately following our meeting. Our Portland staff will relocate to new office space the weekend of February 15. The new office will open for business on Tuesday, February 19, after the Presidents’ Day holiday. The space at Triangle Corporate Park in Tigard will allow the PacificSource, Manley Services, and Select Benefit Administrators, Inc. (SBA) employees in Portland to share a single location. Combining our Portland offices will allow us to operate more efficiently and support improved communication, and to offer you and your clients the convenience of a single location. Our mailing address and all our phone numbers will remain the same, although we have added a new PacificSource toll-free number, (866) 540-1191. Our new Portland location will be: Tracy Vanderhoof’s Priority is People Individual Plan Specialist Tracy Vanderhoof’s number one priority is to assist people however she can. Often, that means fielding calls from agents or applicants who call to track the status of an application or ask additional questions. She has a broad knowledge of health insurance and is an Oregon-licensed insurance agent. She also works behind the scenes helping Sales Representatives Kelly Walker, Susie Chun, and Mike McKibben keep you supplied with reports and materials. “We have an amazing staff in our Individual Department that I am proud to work with,” remarks Tracy. “We do our best to provide excellent service to you and your clients, because you are important to us.” |

In August 2007, PacificSource launched its Agent iStore—bringing together online marketing and access to better serve you and your individual clients. Tracy has helped many agents get up and running with their own customized Agent iStore Web page. “Agents really appreciate the convenience of this online tool,” says Tracy. “They can access their client information and check the status of applications anytime.” Outside of work, Tracy likes spending time with her family and friends, camping, watching the University of Oregon Ducks, and attending her child’s musical performances and plays. She grew up in Roseburg, Oregon, and has lived most of her life in Oregon. Tracy says people are her favorite part of her job. She finds assisting people in difficult circumstances especially satisfying—helping them understand health insurance, offering support, and directing them to programs and agents who can help. “I love working for a company that supports and encourages us to help people find the healthcare coverage they need, even if that means that they don’t immediately purchase a plan from us,” says Tracy. “Whether or not they become a PacificSource member, every person is important.”PacificSource Sponsors CE Classes in Eugene and Portland PacificSource-sponsored CE Classes are scheduled for February 26 in Eugene and February 28 in Portland.
