2008 Elect Plans Approved

New Plans Added, Others Discontinued in 2008

PacificSource is excited to announce that we have received approval from the Oregon Insurance Division on all Elect rates and plans for 2008. As you may know, we are adding Elect Premiere, Preferred, and Value Option plans, and discontinuing the Plus and Value plans. Although many of you attended our recent plan training sessions, we have some additional information and late-breaking news to share with you:

• A member who defaults to the Preferred plan can send in a written request to move to the same deductible or higher in the Premiere plan without submitting a new application or having to go through underwriting. If the member chooses to upgrade their plan/deductible, they will need to go through our normal process of submitting an application, which is subject to underwriting approval.
   
• We’ve made a correction in the Elect brochure, flier, and summaries that were handed out at the agent trainings. The emergency room benefit on the Premiere and Preferred plans should be a $100 copay plus coinsurance after the deductible.
   
• New print materials have been ordered and we will send them to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, please use the following documents:

• For your reference, an individual plan matrix shows our 2007 discontinued plans and corresponding default plans for 2008. For each 2007 plan, the matrix also lists 2008 plan options, and indicates which ones require a new application and underwriting in addition to the member's written plan change request.
   
• A report of your current Elect membership is being compiled. We will e-mail it to you within the next few days.
   
• Beginning December 10, the agent online application will show the new plans. We will notify you by e-mail when the revised application is available.
