Elect Value: Inexpensive Coverage to the Rescue!

Do you have a client who's in between coverage? Know someone who just needs a little assurance they're taken care of in case of an emergency? Our Elect Value plans are a perfect fit! This low-cost catastrophic coverage is a great alternative for people that don't have a lot to spend on premiums, but need some insurance in case of an accident or other catastrophe.

Like other Elect coverage, our Value plans also cover the basics: treatment for illness and injury, maternity care, and prescription drugs. There's a lifetime maximum benefit of $2 million per person, and members don't need to choose a primary care physician or seek referrals for specialist care.

Some key highlights of the Elect Value plans:

  • Annual deductibles of $5,000, $7,500, or $10,000
  • $25 copayments for routine gynecological exams
  • Most in-network services covered at 70% after the deductible
  • In-network prescription drug coverage at 50% after the deductible

Casey Vines—One in a Million

Casey Vines, who started with PacificSource in January 2006, says, “I have definitely learned a lot being here. I've always worked in accounting in the past, so insurance is new to me. Really, I just try to take it day by day.”

As an Individual Sales Technician, Casey enters application information into our system. It's her job to determine if an application has the necessary information for the underwriters to do their jobs. If not, Casey contacts agents and prospective members by e-mail to request the missing information.

Casey stresses that because everything has to be in writing from the applicant, an application is much easier to process if the e-mail address is included. Although missing information is typically a date or provider information, sometimes more clarification is needed. “The part that gets tricky is when an applicant has answered yes to a medical condition question,” explains Casey. “Sometimes I actually need more information than is asked for on the application.”

When she's not at work, Casey has her family and a menagerie of pets to keep her busy, including a horse, two dogs, and four cats. During the school year, Casey volunteers as an assistant facilitator and team mom for the Sheldon High School JV cheerleaders, where her daughter is on the team.

Casey also spends time doing some cheering of her own. “I LOVE the Ducks,” she says. “I met my fiancée at the first Ducks game of the season three years ago, and I've managed to convert my coworker Shalee from being a Beaver fan!”

With a wedding on the horizon and a great group of people to work with, Casey says, “I feel lucky each day I wake up.” And although she says it's the only thing she's ever won, Casey literally proved she's one in a million when she won a trip to the famous Marlboro Ranch in Montana . “They selected 40 names from over a million people who entered the drawing to go to the ranch,” she says. “And I don't even smoke!”
