Elect FlexPerks: HSA-friendly Plans

FlexPerks is our line of HSA-qualified high deductible health plans. All the Elect plans cover treatment for illness and injury, maternity care, and prescription drugs. All plans have a lifetime maximum benefit of $2 million per person and are not HMO plans, so members don't need to choose a primary care physician or seek referrals for specialist care.

Here are some key highlights of our Elect FlexPerks plans:

  • First-dollar accident benefit
  • Preventive care and prescription drug coverage subject to the deductible
  • Annual deductibles from $1,050 to $5,000

Compliance & Persistency Program from Caremark®

We're happy to support our pharmacy benefits manager, Caremark, with their educational Rx C&P SM Program. This program helps ensure that members on critical maintenance drug therapies continue to take their medications as prescribed. Members who receive select brand name and generic medications can expect to receive the following:

  • Welcome letter when they fill their first prescription
  • Reminder letter if the member doesn't refill the prescription as scheduled
  • Timed educational communication to prevent fall-off from their prescribed course of treatment
  • Follow-up letter if there is a second or subsequent “gap in therapy.” A fax will also be sent to their provider at that time.
  • Refill reminders for members who use our mail service pharmacy. This notice is sent two weeks prior to the refill date.

This program is a great avenue to reach out to our members and to help them learn more about their diseases and the drugs they take to treat them. If you have any questions about the Rx C&P Program, feel free to contact our Pharmacy Department at (541) 686-1242, ext. 3784, or toll-free at (800) 624-6052, ext. 3784, or e-mail pharmacy@pacificsource.com.

Jami Thielman – Bettering Herself and the Community

Jami Thielman has been in the insurance business for over 16 years. She started her career with a high-risk auto insurance carrier in her hometown of Denver, Colorado, and her background has served her well. In fact, after only five years at PacificSource, she's already become Manager of our Individual Department. “I started in 2001 as a Marketing Assistant, and a year later, I was promoted to Marketing Team Leader.”

Jami became the Individual Manager in January of this year and says there are challenges to working in a small department like Individual. “There really isn't a typical day in the Individual Department, so I try to help out when and where I can,” explains Jami. “Our agents and members might even get me on the phone queue! Agents should know that I'm a resource for them – I'd love to hear their questions and comments.”

“I try to follow the golden rule of treating others the way you want to be treated,” says Jami. “It has gotten me this far in life!”

Although Jami's proven herself to be a valuable employee, she continues to learn more about insurance on her own. Not only did she recently join the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), but she's also taking classes at Lane Community College. She hopes to transfer to Northwest Christian College next year to obtain a degree in Healthcare Administration. “It has been interesting going back to school,” Jami says. “I am taking a majority of my classes online to fit into my schedule.”

Jami's oldest son is also a college student – a junior at Linfield College. Her youngest son is a junior in high school. “It used to be that my kids occupied most of my time, but now that they are older I have had to find other things to do. Last year my husband and I bought our first house, so we're busy decorating and landscaping.”

When she's not busy bettering herself or her yard, you'll find Jami helping others in her community. An active member of PacificSource's Relay for Life, Junior Achievement, and March of Dimes committees, Jami says that all these causes are important to her personally. “I've participated in Relay for Life for more than five years. Everyone has someone that they know and love who has been hit with cancer. Last year my oldest sister passed away from skin cancer, so this event is really close to my heart.”

Helping others is just Jami's way. After all, she follows a simple motto. “I try to follow the golden rule of treating others the way you want to be treated,” says Jami. “It has gotten me this far in life!”

You can reach Jami at (541) 684-5282 or toll-free (800) 624-6052, ext. 2282 or by e-mail at jthielman@pacificsource.com.
