Dental Plans Provide Bright New Options for Idaho Employers

We are pleased to offer Comprehensive and Preventive dental plan designs to Idaho employers beginning July 1, 2008. Your PacificSource group clients will find that our dental policies are the perfect way to enhance their PacificSource group medical coverage. In addition, your other group clients (without PacificSource medical coverage), who have ten or more employees, may purchase stand-alone dental coverage.

Groups of 26 or more employees may purchase Orthodontia coverage with any PacificSource dental policy. This coverage pays 50 percent of the dentist’s charge for orthodontics up to a $1,000 per person lifetime maximum. The six-month waiting period is waived for groups of 51 or more covered employees, and for groups transferring from another carrier’s orthodontia coverage to PacificSource.

Our members are free to visit any dentist they choose, since we do not have a participating dentist network. We pay claims based on reasonable and customary charges for the area where services are rendered. Most dentists bill us directly using a standardized dental claim form. If a dentist does not bill us directly, the patient can send us the claim for reimbursement.

Our PacificSource Group Dental Plans brochure (1.3MB PDF) for Idaho provides an overview of our dental plan designs. For more information about our dental plans or for printed copies of the brochure, please feel free to contact us.

Clients Gain Local HSA Option through Umpqua Bank

Do you have a client who is considering an HSA-qualified plan from PacificSource? You’ll be pleased to learn that, in addition to HSA Bank, we now have another banking option available: Umpqua Bank.

Umpqua Bank, with stores conveniently located along Oregon’s I-5 corridor, the Central Coast, and Bend, offers a local option for many clients and their employees. Umpqua’s knowledgeable, friendly staff makes it easy to set up HSA-qualified accounts. Features for HSA customers include:

  • Interest on all HSA account balances
  • Complimentary checks and debit card
  • No annual fee
  • In-store withdrawals or deposits, and deposits by mail
  • Online banking to view account balances, and more

Our partnership with HSA Bank will continue for clients who need integrated services.

For more information about both banking options, see our updated HSA sales fliers (Bend, Eugene, Medford, Portland; 3MB PDF). Umpqua Bank representatives are also available for client meetings. Contact your PacificSource Sales Representative for details.

Skin cancer awareness postersPosters Teach Employees about Skin Cancer Prevention

We’ve created two new posters to help employers educate their employees about skin cancer prevention. The Save Your Skin and Maximize Fun/Minimize Risk posters are part of our Workplace Wellness Toolkit. The posters, as well as payroll stuffers and a newsletter article, are available at no cost to groups. They can contact their Client Service Representative for these and other workplace wellness materials.

Track & Field Trials Serve as a Springboard to Health

From June 27 through July 6, Eugene, Oregon, will host the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials—Track & Field at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus. The winning athletes will compete in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Since the inception of the Olympics, the athletes have inspired us all. Their determination and perseverance as they pursue their goals can motivate us to pursue healthier lifestyles. While few of us may be able to run a four-minute mile, most of us can take a brisk, 20-minute walk on our lunch hour. PacificSource promotes healthy lifestyle choices through our extra programs and services for members (value-added sales fliers: Bend, Boise, Eugene, Medford, Portland; 1.2MB PDF), such as the Free & Clear® tobacco cessation program. By making healthy choices, all our members are winners.

We’re also happy to provide your clients with guidance and materials to help them set up workplace wellness programs. A variety of value-added program materials are available to download from the For Agents/Materials area of our Web site. Feel free to contact us if you have questions or would like printed copies of our materials.
