Assist America—More Peace of Mind for Travelers We’re very excited about a new value-added service that will be available as of October 1. As we announced in the previous Agent Bulletin, our travel benefits for members with medical coverage will soon include global emergency services provided by Assist America®. This program will appeal to both leisure travelers and your group clients whose business involves frequent travel. The level of services provided by Assist America is unparalleled, and we believe this value-added program will make PacificSource an even more attractive choice for your clients. As promised, we’re happy to provide more details about the Assist America global emergency services program. How the program works: If a member experiences a medical emergency when traveling 100 miles or more from home, or in a foreign country, they can call Assist America and receive help getting the care they need. Key services at a glance:
Assist America highlights:
It’s important to note Assist America does not replace a member’s insurance coverage. Assist America is a service provider and pays only for services it arranges; it does not reimburse for services it did not provide. Once under the care of a physician or medical facility, the terms and conditions of the member’s PacificSource plan apply. Next week, PacificSource will mail a letter to Plan Administrators to announce this new program. Then, in early October, we will mail a letter and brochure—which includes an Assist America ID card—directly to all PacificSource subscribers. Our new sales flier provides additional detailed information, and is localized for Bend, Boise, Eugene, Medford, and Portland. If you have any questions about the program or would like more information on how it can benefit your clients, please contact your PacificSource Sales Representative. New PacificSource Wellness Toolkit for Employers Wellness is a hot topic with employers these days, but knowing where to begin can be a challenge. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new tool to help our employer clients promote wellness: the Workplace Wellness Toolkit. We designed the kit specifically for groups with 50 to 100 employees—businesses that are actively working to improve the health of their employees, but often have limited staff resources for internal communication and wellness issues. Our toolkit will make it easy for those employers to communicate with and educate their employees on a variety of health and wellness topics. The toolkit is a USB flash drive containing electronic files of newsletter articles, posters, fliers, and payroll stuffers, including several themes or “campaigns.” There’s also an overview document that provides suggestions on how to make use of the materials in a meaningful and effective way. Our Client Service Representatives will be distributing these toolkits to plan administrators, so if you have a client you think would benefit from this item, please contact us. Member Fliers and Brochures Get a New Look We’re pleased to introduce our new PacificSource member collateral materials! They have a new look and easy-to-read format, and are organized and color-coded by topic. You’ll find the new member materials in the same place in the For Agents/Materials area of our Web site. If you have questions or would like paper copies for your groups, you’re welcome to contact us. PacificSource Wellness Event Slated for October 1 in Eugene
