Sales Fliers and Brochures Go Local

We’re pleased to introduce our new PacificSource sales collateral materials! They have a new look, easy-to-read format, and are localized for the communities we serve. Now, you can choose materials that are specific to your region. You and your clients will see places you recognize in the new artwork on the front of the fliers, and each piece is customized with contact information for the appropriate region: Bend, Boise, Eugene, Medford, or Portland. Visit the For Agents/Materials area of our Web site or contact your PacificSource Client Services Representative.

System Enhancement Project Moves Forward

In the last Agent Bulletin, we provided an update on our system enhancement project and promised to keep you apprised of how the project is progressing.

  • SEHI renewals: We’re very close to being back on schedule for SEHI renewals. October SEHI renewals have been distributed, and November SEHI renewals are in process now; we expect to release them to agents by Tuesday, September 4.

  • InTouch for Agents Web portal: We’re pleased to report that access to census reports for groups of 26–100 is once again available through InTouch. Initial testing of our new InTouch for Agents interface is going well and it is slated to go live early next month. We continue to work toward making SEHI census reports available online and encourage you to contact your Sales Representative or his/her assistant for this information in the meantime.

  • Benefit handbooks and contracts: Concurrent with, but separate from, our claims system enhancement, we have been upgrading our document production system, which produces benefit handbooks, benefit summaries, and contracts. This process upgrade has temporarily resulted in a backlog of handbooks and contracts for SEHI groups. We’re now able to resume production of SEHI benefit handbooks and are working to catch up on groups that have renewed or come under coverage since early July. Work on the SEHI group contract continues. We're currently processing handbooks for July new groups, and will then move on to August new groups, July renewals, August renewals, and September new groups and renewals, in that order. Some SEHI groups will begin receiving their benefit handbooks this week, and we expect to be caught up on this process by October 1. Handbooks and contracts for non-SEHI groups have remained on track, and are not impacted by this transition.
Overall, our claims system transition and document system upgrade continue to go quite well. We'll continue to keep you informed of the progress we're making and what you and your clients can expect. Again, we appreciate your patience as we complete this project, and thank you for your continued partnership with PacificSource.

Tobacco Cessation Program Updated and Extended

Good news for tobacco users interested in making a lifestyle change! Our Free & Clear® Quit For Life™ tobacco cessation pilot program has been extended through July 2008. Free & Clear is one of our most popular value-added programs and services.

Chantix (12 weeks of treatment) has been added to the medications available through the program. Chantix (varenicline) and Zyban (bupropion) are covered if the member is active in Free & Clear and the medication has been recommended to the member by the Free & Clear Quit Coach. Both medications require a prescription from the member's physician and are covered according to the member’s pharmacy benefit. If recommended by the Free & Clear Quit Coach, patches or gum are covered for eight weeks of therapy.

In addition, as part of the program, members can make unlimited toll-free calls to Free & Clear, receive five calls from Quit Coaches, and access educational materials on quitting.

The following Free & Clear member materials have been revised to include information about copays for nicotine-replacement products:

Upcoming Community Events

Kristin Stewart Kristin Stewart, Marketing Sales Assistant
Already the local voice of PacificSource, Kristin greets customers and agents who call our office. She’s even made an impression on the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) employees who share the building. They made her an honorary member of the ATF—with a T-shirt, hat, and all. “Kristin has been a wonderful addition to our Boise office,” says Boise Regional Manager Dave Ewers. “And her previous work in event management has been perfect for helping to coordinate the many events that are part of opening an office in a new sales area.”

Outside of the challenges of work, Kristin spends most of her time with her husband remodeling their first house. Her husband is a staff sergeant in the Air Force—he’s completed two tours in Iraq and will make a third tour soon.

“I really enjoy working in the PacificSource Boise office,” says Kristin. “We all work really well together. There always seems to be an open house, agent training, Alive After Five event, and, now, St. Luke’s Women’s Fitness Celebration Run to participate in and keep me busy!”
