Manley Services Offers New Array of HRA Packages

Since their inception, Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs) have been a smart solution for many employers—helping them manage their benefit costs and giving their employees more choice and control in their healthcare spending. Now, Manley Services offers a new array of HRA packages that are designed to assist your clients in implementing successful HRA programs for their employees.

The plans offer top features, are the easiest for employers to administer, and are the simplest for employees to understand and use. Manley created its new HRA packages based on feedback from employers and years of HRA experience. The Manley Services staff works with you and your clients to learn what you hope to accomplish through the HRA, and then recommends specific benefit solutions to address those goals. They are at the forefront of administering these plans and are well positioned to help both you and your clients with plan design.

Take advantage of Manley’s experience, and see how Manley Services and PacificSource can help you meet the needs of your clients. To learn more about Manley’s new HRA packages, download their product brochure. Commission Process Changes Now in Effect

Commission based on premium paid

As previously announced, we’re changing our commission payment process to tie commissions to premiums received. This change will be reflected in your August commission payment (for July business) for SEHI groups and individual policies, and at a later date for non-SEHI groups. The following is a recap of the changes:

  • Commission will only be paid after we receive at least 60 percent of the premium due for group policies, or 90 percent of the premium due for individual policies.

  • Commissions will apply only to premium paid and will be prorated based on the percentage of premium received. If additional premium is paid or reduced retroactively, the commission will be adjusted accordingly on the next commission check.

For examples, please see our June 1 Agent Bulletin.

Changes to the commission statements

This month you’ll also notice changes to our commission statements and checks resulting from enhancements to our commission system. The new statements show the number of members enrolled in a group; specify the basis for the commission (PMPM, PEPM, or percent of premium); and indicate the amount of premium paid by the employer. In addition, they clarify commission adjustments by noting the corresponding month. If the payment includes more than one month’s commission for a single group, the statement will list each month's commission on a separate line.

Please note that the new statement's fourth column, called “Billed Premium,” may populate with retroactive data for some agents. We’re aware that this may cause confusion, and we’re working to fix the problem. In the meantime, if you have any questions about your statement, you are welcome to contact us.

Transition between two systems

As you may know, we’re transitioning our client data to the new system in two phases, so changes to our commission payment process will also take place in two phases. During the transition, you may receive:

  • Two commission statements monthly, within a few days of each other.

  • Two checks or direct deposits monthly, within a few days of each other.

  • Two sets of agency and agent numbers. You'll find your new numbers on your August commission statement.

Once we have transitioned all customers to our new system, you will receive only one commission statement and check each month, and your old agent and agency numbers will become obsolete.

We appreciate your patience with these changes. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact your PacificSource Marketing Representative or their Sales Assistant.
