PacificSource Remains Committed to Reform

With the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling, PacificSource and other insurers received the clarity needed to continue implementing the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The court essentially upheld the individual mandate and the law in general, and placed some restrictions on Medicaid expansion. All of the changes already in place as a result of the law—including expanded preventive care and coverage for children to age 26—will continue. In fact, we take pride in offering products that meet or exceed the ACA requirements.

Picking a Provider Just Got Easier

Today, we released a new version of our commercial provider directory that will make it easier for your clients and their employees to search and select a provider. The changes include:

  • New look and feel that makes the site easier to navigate.
  • New search functionality based on geographic location; search can be fine-tuned using provider name, plan accepted, facility (labeled group) name, specialty, provider gender, and more.
  • Improved mapping feature to help members physically locate providers.
  • Search results can be printed, or the member can choose to have a text or email message sent to their phone or personal computer.

The new site also makes it easier you and your potential PacificSource clients to explore the full depth of our network without having to make a plan selection. We encourage you to take a look.

New West Clients Move to PacificSource Beginning with July Renewals

The New West commercial business transition continues to go smoothly as groups and individuals move to PacificSource plans. The renewal process for group and individual clients was moved from New West to PacificSource starting with July 1 renewals. We’ve put together renewal information to make the move to PacificSource as easy as possible for our mutual clients. Details about our renewal processes are shared below. Our Customer Service and Membership Departments are ready to serve your clients’ needs. Until your clients renew, New West will continue to provide customer service and claims processing.

Group Client Renewals

As part of the renewal process, employer clients receive packets from us 60 days prior to their renewal month. Each packet includes:

Individual Client Renewals

Your New West individual clients receive renewal packets from us 45 days prior to their renewal month. Once your client selects a plan and sends us their Plan Selection Form, we will set them up in our system, order their ID cards, and mail their policy.

Clarification about Health Statement Quotes

Need a quote for health-statement-underwritten business? We are now quoting small or large employer groups from any complete health statement that is filed with the CSI for that size employer group. [Ed.: correction 7/6/12] We apologize for confusion regarding health statement quotes.
